© U-g-g-B-o-y-(-Photograph-World-Sense-)Adventure travel can create memories you can cherish for the rest of your life. Don't let your vacation plans get soured by getting caught up in the plots of not-so-well-meaning people on your path.
Women travelers have to take extra care to protect themselves.
1. Travel with a friend or group. This is a built-in safety net to avoid potential strangers who are searching for their next victim. And if you're traveling alone, don't admit it. Make up some excuse: Actually, I have to meet my girlfriend in a few minutes, sorry. Bye!
2. Keep conversations with strangers short. Don't accidentally build up a rapport with someone you don't know, no matter how nice and unthreatening they may seem. You don't know where the conversation can lead.
3. Say "no" to any kind of propositions. Whether someone is asking you for "a few bucks," "one drink," or "a minute of your time," these can all lead you to potentially harmful situations. Unless you're building houses for Habitat For Humanity, don't waste your precious travel time on a stranger's needs.
You can find many more safety tips online.
